Handling and automation - handling/conveyors

Box conveyors

Carnitech box conveyors are under constant development and are adapted to conditions unique to the food industry. Our type BT45 conveyor was given USDA approval for its innovative design, which makes it exceptionally easy to clean.

The standard conveyor fits all types of boxes currently used in food production, although it is also available in a number of specially adapted versions.

The box conveyors are typically fitted with a wealth of equipment, including pushers for the distribution of boxes, pneumatic guide ways to interlace several box lines into one, code readers and barcode scanners for the registration of products.

Box destacker

Our box destacker separates stacks down to individual boxes and ensures efficient further transport. If necessary, the function can handle several different types of boxes without readjustment and boxes can be both empty and full.

Like our box stacker, the Carnitech destacker helps to reduce one-sided, repetitive work, thus improving the physical conditions of production.

Box stacker

Carnitech’s box stacker is used to stack empty and full boxes. Individual boxes are handled quickly and efficiently, turned if necessary and collected in stacks with a view to further transport and storage.

The box stacker, which can either transfer boxes to a transport track one stack at a time or several stacks straight onto a pallet, improves the ergonomics of the operation and eliminates heavy manual handling.

Box turner

Carnitech’s box-turner is combined with the box controller and is similarly integrated into the box conveyor and functions as an integral part of the line. Any boxes registered by the box controller to be facing in the wrong direction prior to stacking, are automatically turned.

Control system

Carnitech supplies complete control systems for all levels of production, from simple PLC-control of individual machines to PC-based database systems which communicate with the factory's main production system.

The demands imposed by the food industry regarding traceability of products throughout processes means that the individual boxes must be registered and controlled throughout production. The recorded data is checked against overall control data and is used, among other things, for sorting purposes and quality control of individual products.

Data collection can be extensive, all depending on requirements and demands relating to access to historical data and the level of data security. SCADA systems are built in as an intermediate layer between the machine controls and the main production system, facilitating a rapid, graphic overview of the current situation in the production plant.

Control systems form the principal nerve of the production process and are always adapted to current conditions and desired functionality.

Palletizing

Carnitech supplies palletizing solutions in three variants:

Palletizing robots with specially adapted grippers and conveyor systems. This type is a flexible solution, especially when it comes to adapting to future tasks. Palletizing robots can handle intermediate sheets of cardboard or foil to secure pallets loaded with cardboard boxes for transport.

Pallet-loading systems which handle boxes in layers and transfer them to the pallet. Made of stainless steel, they are ideal for use in wet production areas. Pallet-loading systems work quickly and efficiently with multiple types of boxes. Like palletizing robots, pallet loader systems can handle intermediate sheets of cardboard or film to secure pallets loaded with cardboard boxes for transport.

The pallet-stacker system is a variant of our box-stacker, with individual boxes being stacked in columns and then being transferred automatically to the pallet. This system is a quick and inexpensive solution for tasks which do not require the use of many different types of boxes.

Secure transport

Pallets can be secured for transport by film-wrapping them to secure the pallet to full height, or alternatively by only wrapping the upper layers of the pallet. Intermediary layers of card or film inserted between selected layers lock the individual layers together, thus improving stability. Film-wrapping can be combined with top film to protect the goods during transport. Shrink-film installations provide the same total sealing and protection of the goods.

Individual wrappers can be supplied in stainless steel, although these will typically be painted versions.
